Our standards

We expect the highest standards of work at East London Thinking. We follow the stringent guidelines set out by our professional bodies, and we work hard to ensure we are meeting the expectations of our clients. We take a person-centred and appreciative approach to our work; in practice this means we will always treat people as individuals with strengths, resources, and personal values, be that a child, a parent, a teacher, or a coaching client. Following the ethical codes of our professional bodies, we will always prioritise the needs and interests of children over other considerations.

We strive to work with honesty and integrity as set out in out in our values statement. We understand our own limits as people and professionals and we will discuss referral to a more specialist service rather than work outside our competencies.

At East London Thinking, psychologists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). As the national regulator of professions in health and care, the HCPC’s role is to protect the public.

Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC demonstrates that the psychologist meets the required professional standards of proficiency, ethics, and professional development.

Chartered Psychologist status is the nationally recognised benchmark of professional recognition for psychologists; it can only be conferred by the British Psychological Society, reflecting the highest standards of psychological knowledge and expertise.

Psychologists who are members of the British Psychological Society are bound by the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct.
